Break-in At Cannabis Dispensary Reported In Deerfield: Police – Deerfield, IL Patch

DEERFIELD, IL — Greenhouse — the first medical marijuana dispensary to open on the North Shore in 2016 — is the latest in a group of local pot shops to experience a break-in over the last week. Deerfield police tell Patch nothing was missing from the business at 151 S. Pfingsten Road, and video surveilance shows three men unsuccessfully attempting to pry open a vault.

The break-ins follow similar incidents at cannabis dispensaries in Addison, Highland Park and Chicago, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Deerfield police responded to Greenhouse at 1:50 a.m. Thursday for a burglar alarm activation. An officer found the front door propped open with a chair and and searched the interior of the business. The three suspects, who were later seen on surveillance video, were gone before the police got there.

In the video, the three men are seen wearing gloves and masks, using a pry bar to gain entry into Greenhouse and several locked security doors within, according to police.

The building was able to be secured upon police departure.
