Break-in at Painesville Township medical marijuana dispensary investigated – News-Herald.com

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a break-in at a Painesville Township medical marijuana dispensary.

Deputies responded at 8:37 a.m. Aug. 10 for a report of a breaking and entering at Bloom Medicinals, located at 382 Blackbrook Road. According to a news release from the department, deputies found the rear door of the structure had been forcibly entered.

Checking the interior, the deputies found that a suspect or suspects had broken through a layer of drywall, which accessed a back hallway of the business. Suspect(s) then broke through a small section of reinforced concrete in an effort to gain access to the vault storage area, according to the release.

Unable to reach the vault through the wall, suspect(s) then used cutting tools to break through a steel vault door where medical marjuana products and cash were stored.

Within the vault is a combination safe, which is used to store cash. Suspect(s) stole an unknown amount of marijuana product and a currently unknown amount of cash, according to the news release.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s initial investigation found that internet wires, along with alarm connection, had been disabled. Managers were alerted of a connection loss at 10 p.m. and shortly after 4 a.m. No alarms were issued to dispatch the sheriff’s office, however.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 440-350-5620.
