Burglars hit two Norman medical marijuana dispensaries within hours – KOCO Oklahoma City


The owner of a Norman dispensary spent the day cleaning up and picking up the pieces after thieves were caught on camera breaking in — marking the first of two burglaries at dispensaries down the road from each other. The burglaries occurred overnight and into Wednesday morning at dispensaries near Interstate 35 and Lindsey Street. The owner of one of the dispensaries spoke with KOCO 5 and provided surveillance video of the incident.”They actually had a big rock. They put the rock on the window and threw it,” Bhaumik Rao said. “Two of the guys jumped in, they looked at everything. They had a hammer, broke it and took the high-end accessories.”Rao said he couldn’t believe it.”When you see this happening, it crushes your heart,” Rao said.On top of what was taken from his dispensary, the damage caused during the burglary sets him back $15,000 to $20,000.”Pound and a half of flowers, some concentrates, some edibles, a lot of accessories. High-end accessories,” Rao said.After spending hours cleaning up and boarding the window after the first break-in, Rao said he went to Home Depot and, during that time, the suspects were caught on camera at another dispensary.Police said someone also had broken into a dispensary down the street from the first store.”Actually, the owner came in here, told me and discussed the same thing that what we needed to do to work out some plan for better security,” Rao said.He told KOCO 5 that, regardless of what happened, he had to stay open so he could help medical marijuana patients.
