KEIZER, Ore. — A burglary suspect didn’t get too far when he tried to break into a Keizer smoke shop early Thursday morning.
Polce were called to the One Stop Smoke Shop on River Road North just before 1 a.m. when a security officer found a burglary suspect stuck in the business’ window. He suffered some injuries from the window’s broken glass, so fire officials were called to the scene as well. None of the three Keizer Police officers working that morning could respond, so sheriff’s deputies and Salem Police officers responded.
It took them about 30 to 40 minutes to get the suspect out from the window. Jose Manual Alvarado, 42, was briefly hospitalized and then booked into jail.
