They probably didn’t mean to tread on Park Ridge history Monday night, but in a flurry of amendments and counter amendments, trying to protect the more viable modern retail spaces in Uptown from recreational cannabis dispensaries, the members of the Park Ridge City Council looked at a color-coded map of Uptown, like playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey, and decided that anything north of Touhy Avenue would be sacrificed to the pressures of having someplace where dispensaries could be located.
