The first adult-use recreational marijuana dispensary on the Upper Cape is hosting a grand opening today.
M3 Ventures, better known as Triple M, began adult-use marijuana sales from their location at 29 Echo Road in Mashpee on Monday, June 14. Their grand opening event includes an onsite food truck from Seafood Sam’s from noon to 6 PM and live acoustic guitar by Jake Hill from 3 to 6 PM.
“The demand is here; people are excited,” Renee Pannoni, the Mashpee dispensary manager, said.
The dispensary menu includes a dozen strains of flower, prerolls, vaporizers and a variety of cannabis-infused products from gummies and chocolates to “canna-spritzer” seltzer.
The recreational dispensary is open from 10 AM to 8 PM Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 PM on Sundays. Customers must be at least 21 years old and provide a valid photo ID.
About 75 adult-use customers visited the dispensary on opening day, Kevin O’Reilly, the company’s chief operating officer, said.
Triple M also operates a recreational and medical dispensary in Plymouth. Flower makes up about 50 percent of sales in Plymouth, with “canna-spritzer” and gummies also popular among customers, Mr. O’Reilly said.
“We have a good plan in place from lessons learned in Plymouth,” he said.
Triple M secured a host agreement for adult-use sales from the Mashpee Board of Selectmen in March 2019, just months after Mashpee residents at Town Meeting in October 2018 voted against a ban on recreational marijuana establishments.
More than two years later, the full facility has yet to be constructed. For now, adult-use sales have commenced with the addition of two temporary structures to the existing dispensary, which has been serving medical customers since April 2018.
Medical and adult-use customers visiting the Mashpee dispensary are helped in separate wings of the building to provide medical customers with more time and
