GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The wait is over: Grand Rapids residents can purchase recreational marijuana in the city starting this week.
Fluresh, located at 1213 Phillips Ave. SW, will become the first dispensary in Grand Rapids to sell recreational marijuana on Friday, Oct. 23.
At this time, only medical marijuana patients are allowed to shop inside the dispensary because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Recreational customers must purchase marijuana products online and obtain it via curbside pick-up or delivery.
Fluresh officials do not have a specific timeframe for allowing recreational customers to shop indoors but said they’re looking forward to it “in the near future.”
The start of recreational marijuana sales by Fluresh marks a second “first” for the company. In February, the retailer opened as the city’s first medical marijuana provisioning center.
“This is a milestone moment not only for Grand Rapids but for all who have pioneered Michigan’s cannabis legalization movement,” Tom Benson, CEO of Fluresh, said in a statement. “Fluresh is honored to be the first retailer to provide residents of this great community and surrounding area with access to high-quality cannabis products.”
Fluresh is open every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Customers can place orders online at Fluresh.com/shop for curbside pick-up or delivery. Orders are taken up to 30 minutes before close.
Delivery is available every day between noon and 6 p.m.
Fluresh will offer recreational marijuana products like cannabis flower, edibles and extracts. Medical marijuana products will continue to be sold as well.
All Fluresh-branded cannabis products will be 20 percent off for new customers if they enroll in the company’s rewards program on their first order.
“Our experienced team at Fluresh takes great pride in the special care we have taken to assure that all customers and patients, regardless
