FRAMINGHAM – Last month Temescal Wellness held a grand opening, but starting today, September 13, the Framingham company can now legally sell medical marijuana in the City.
Located at 665 Cochituate Road, Route 30, the company opened at 10 a.m., after receiving its final approval from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The 4-year old company has a manufacturing and cultivation business in Worcester, and a medical dispensary in Hudson, that opened in June.
The community of Framingham, as a Town, agreed to at least two medical marijuana companies within its borders.
Under state law, since Framingham approved two medical marijuana establishments, it must have a minimum of two recreational dispensaries within its borders.
The City currently has a moratorium on recreational marijuana establishments
The 11-member Framingham City Council is expected to vote on a recommendation from the City’s Marijuana Task Force late this month. The Task Force is recommending 6 recreational businesses to operate in Framingham.
Temescal Wellness plans to apply for one of those recreational licenses.
The Company’s website stated it provides: “a wide array of flowers (the part of the plant that is harvested, dried, and used for medicine) that are low to high THC strains, and we also have a CBD (non-psychoactive) strain. In addition, we have pre-rolls (aka “joints”), capsules, rosin (a solvent-free extract), bubble hash, tinctures, transdermal patches, edibles, and “Cold Brew” concentrate. We will have more products very soon, including more concentrates, more capsules, and more flower strains. There will always be multiple consumption methods for our patients to choose from.”
The Company, which also has a location in Hudson, stated “its gives back to its communities through its Patient Affordability Plan, its skilled and well-compensated workforce, its Community Benefit Funds, and through the state and federal taxes and charitable donations that it makes.”
