SPRING VALLEY, Calif. – One person was taken to the hospital late Tuesday following a shooting at a Spring Valley cannabis dispensary, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an unlicensed marijuana dispensary in the 9100 block Olive Drive between Bancroft Drive and Helix Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Lt. Thomas Seiver. Medics took the victim to a hospital to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds. Seiver described his injuries as grave.
Homicide investigators were called to the scene to investigate, authorities said.
Witnesses near the area told FOX 5 they heard the sounds of gunshots around the time of the incident.
A family member of the shooting victim said the person is their uncle. According to family, he was was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds in a vehicle.
Authorities have not yet released any other information about the victim.
On Sunday morning, deputies raided a different illegal cannabis dispensary on Olive Street, seizing more than 400 pounds of marijuana and $3,500 in cash.
