CONCORD — A medical marijuana dispensary will open Saturday in Conway, state health officials announced Wednesday.
Sanctuary ATC has received its registration certificate for the Conway location, officials with the state Department of Health and Human Services announced.
Sanctuary’s website said the dispensary is at 234 White Mountain Highway, otherwise known as state Route 16. It is scheduled to be open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sanctuary operates a dispensary in Plymouth, and qualifying patients registered with the Plymouth dispensary will be able to obtain therapeutic cannabis from both locations.
Currently, about 8,000 New Hampshire patients and 449 caregivers are registered in the Therapeutic Cannabis Program.
Dispensaries started opening in New Hampshire in 2016. Last year, lawmakers passed a bill that to make it easier for patients to travel to dispensaries.
A needs assessment determined a dispensary in the Conway area was warranted. An additional dispensary location is under development in the region that encompasses Cheshire and Sullivan counties.
