One of the first companies to sell recreational marijuana in Massachusetts is preparing to open another location for recreational sales, and this one will be the closest yet to the city of Boston. New England Treatment Access announced Friday their Brookline location will open for recreational sales at 9 a.m. on March 23. The facility, located at 160 Washington St., near Brookline Village MBTA station, is currently operating as a medical marijuana dispensary. “We want to thank the Brookline Select Board and the Cannabis Control Commission for the confidence they have shown in our organization,” NETA officials said in a statement. “We also want to thank the community of Brookline, the police chief, and the public safety and town departments for the support they have provided over these past months of preparation.”In November, Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz made the symbolic first purchase when marijuana sales began in his city at NETA’s dispensary on Conz Street. That sale was one of two simultaneous transactions which kicked off the industry in Massachusetts.
