Maui Grown Therapies, one of two licensed Maui medical marijuana dispensaries, is holding an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at its Maui Lani Village Center facility.
Only adults 21 years and older may take part in the open house at 44 Pa’a Street.
The open house also will mark the one-year anniversary of Maui Grown Therapies’ selection as a licensee for Maui, following a competitive evaluation process. Maui’s other licensed dispensary is Pono Life Maui.
Two previous open house events have attracted nearly 200 people, the dispensary said in a news release. Medical cannabis patients, caregivers, family members and those interested in cannabis therapies can walk through the dispensary and participate in a short presentation followed by a Q&A session.
During May, Maui Grown Therapies will host a number of educational events and dispensary tours by invitation to those who have signed up at the website.
The dispensary has started to recruit employees to fill positions at its Kula cultivation site and its Kahului retail dispensary while awaiting opening of a certified laboratory for required product testing.
If the Health Department completes requirements, such as contracting with a lab, the dispensary could begin selling in July.
