MARLBOROUGH – The city took a step forward Thursday in welcoming its second recreational marijuana shop.
Urban Affairs Committee members signed off on Vedi Naturals’ special permit request to open a 2,350-square-foot dispensary at the Twin Boro Crossing plaza on Boston Post Road West. The full City Council will vote on the special permit at an upcoming meeting.

Twin Boro Crossing shopping center is within a recreational and medical marijuana regulated zone, which on Rte. 20 extends from the Northborough line to Interstate 495 on the city’s west side and from the Sudbury line to Phelps Street on the city’s east side.
Vedi Naturals is seeking to become the city’s second recreational marijuana shop. Garden Remedies opened in June at the Marlboro Square plaza at 416 Boston Post Road East. The Fitchburg-based company began selling adult-use marijuana last June and medical marijuana in September.

Jigar Patel, founder and CEO of Vedi Naturals, said in a past interview Marlborough has the ability to support two recreational marijuana shops. He is excited to provide a holistic approach to marijuana and plans to hire a qualified holistic wellness coach.
