BIG RAPIDS — For the love of dogs, one local business owner is launching a program to help support area dog rescue organizations.

“The Dog Walkers donation program is something that is being done in marijuana retail stores in California, where they donate to animal shelters,” he said. “Nobody is doing it here in Michigan yet, so we thought it would be a great thing to bring to Michigan. For now, the donations will go to help the bulldog rescue in Newago, and beyond that they plan to continue to collect donations, and have other promotions, to help other local shelters.
“We will continue to do something year-round to help other shelters here in Big Rapids,” Babbitt said.
The program will apply to online orders as well as in-person purchases.
For those who would like to donate, the store will have
